Charlie Smithers: Adventures in Arran

One year after Germany’s decisive victory in the Franco-German War, a delegation arrives on Great Britain’s shores, ostensibly offering the gift of friendship. However, our hero, Charlie Smithers - manservant to the walking disaster, Lord Brampton, and one of Lord Elgin’s vaunted Specials - has his suspicions that something sinister is in the wind. What’s more, Great Britain’s Prime Minister, William Gladstone, agrees. Tasked to investigate, Charlie soon finds that all indicators lead to Scotland, and the Isle of Arran.

Setting forth, with only a makeup artist as his faithful companion, and a feisty redhead as his guide, Charlie must overcome the haunting memories of Dolly Pleasance to remain focused on his mission. At stake is no less than the fate of Great Britain and, indeed, the entire world.
